Chris and Caitlin Antes are visiting Portland from Pullman, Washington, and we nerd out about development. Chris is a developer for Washington State University, and he actually has a degree in computer science. He describes how it helps him in his day-to-day work as a back end developer. We define front end versus back end, and our processes in going from structure to UI. We also talk about technical interviews and how all tech companies in Portland are in converted industrial spaces with big windows. Caitlin, a vet student, complains about Chris trying to teach her code, and computer science jokes are made.
